现代化是每一个国家的普遍命运。东方从属于西方的大格局,决定了中国早期现代化探索不可避免受西方现代性观念的支配,走上“现代化在中国”的道路。“现代化在中国”,也即西方现代性观念和现代化模式在中国的实践。洋务自强运动、戊戌维新运动、辛亥革命运动的相继失败,标志着“现代化在中国”行不通。中国是当今世界独一无二的伟大样本,注定只能走具有本国特点的现代化新道路,以中国式现代化全面推进中华民族伟大复兴。中国式现代化理论,是新时代中国共产党人的原创性理论贡献,是科学社会主义的最新重大成果,是对世界现代化理论和实践的重大创新,实现了现代化理论的术语革命和范式重构。

Modernization is a shared destiny of every nation.The pattern of the East being subordinate to the West dictated that China's initial exploration into modernization would inevitably be dominated by Western concepts of modernity,leading to the approach of"modernization in China",which denotes the application of Western modernity concepts and models of modernization in China.The consecutive failures of Westernization Movement(or Self-strengthening Movement),the Hundred Days'Reform,and the Revolution of 1911 signify that the"modernization in China"approach was untenable.China stands as a unique and unparalleled example in today's world.It is destined to tread a distinct path of modernization characterized by its intrinsic traits and to advance the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.The theory of Chinese modernization represents an original theoretical contribution of the Chinese Communists in the new era and the newest significant achievement of scientific socialism and a monumental innovation in both the theory and practice of global modernization,achieving terminology revolution and paradigm reconstruction of modernization theory.
