The New Discoveries of the History of Yan’an Film Studio

延安电影团是中国共产党建立的第一个电影机构,它的历史是中国共产党的电影史,也是中国电影史不可或缺的重要部分。我们新发掘到的重要文献表明,是中共中央和毛泽东在1937年抗战全面爆发时提出用电影进行宣传,并开始在延安筹建电影事业。周恩来在武汉选择了曾参加中共领导的电通影片公司拍摄了著名进步影片的左翼电影精英袁牧之和吴印咸。1938年9月,延安电影团在延安成立,为纪录历史和开创电影事业做出了不朽业绩,成为中国电影的丰碑。

The history of the Yan'an Film Studio,the first film institution established by the Communist Party of China,is an integral and important part of the history of Chinese cinema.Our newly unearthed important documents show that it was the Central Committee of the CPC and Mao Zedong who proposed the use of film for publicity and began to prepare for the establishment of the film industry in Yan’an at the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japan in full swing in 1937.In Wuhan,Zhou Enlai chose Yuan Muzhi and Wu Yinhan,the elite left-wing filmmakers who had made famous progressive films for the Communist-led Diantong Film Company,and in September 1938 the Yan’an Film Studio was established in Yan’an,making a monumental contribution to documenting history and pioneering the film industry,which has become a monument to Chinese cinema.
