带“me^(33)”之白语地名及其来源考释

Textual Research on the Origin of Place Names with“Me^(33)”in Bai Language

云南鹤庆一带的白语地名中,有一组带“me^(33)”的古白语地名。其中的白语“me^(33)”,汉语对译为“渼”或“美”。通过考察“me^(33)”和“渼”在白语和汉语中的含义,可将鹤庆带“me^(33)”的古白语地名与陕西鄠邑区带“渼”的一组古地名相对应。进而推断白语地名中的“me^(33)”与陕西关中地名中的“渼”为同源词,源自魏晋南北朝时期的鲜卑语或氐羌语。

Among the Bai language place names in Heqing area of Yunnan,there is a group of ancient ones with"me^(33)",which can be translated into"mei(渼:ripple)"or"mei(美:beauty)".By studying the implication of"me^(33)"and"mei"in the Bai-language and Chinese,the pertinence between Bai language place names with"me^(33)"of Yunnan Heqing and Chinese place names with"mei"of Shaanxi Huyi can be established.Furthermore,it can be deduced that"me^(33)"which appears in place names in Bai,and"mei(ripple)"which is used in place names in the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi province,are paronyms,originating from the Xianbei or Diqiang language in the Wei Jin and Southern and Northern dynasties.
