佘山岛,面积仅0.037平方公里,是一个无居民、无淡水、无市电的“三无”小岛。这个在范范大海中如一叶扁舟的小岛是中国大陆领海基点之一。从1950年起,东部战区海军某观通站官兵就驻守在这里。1月22日,农历正月初一,天刚蒙蒙亮,刚值完站里“新年第一更”的上等兵、雷达操纵员关晓亮并没有休息,而是主动申请跟战友们一起进行新年第一次巡逻。
Sheshan Island,with an area of only 0.037 square km,is a tiny island without fresh water and electricity.Like a boat in the middle of the ocean,it is one of the base points of China's territorial waters.Since 1950its only inhabitants have been Chinese People's Liberation Army troops and it is now garrisoned by a naval observation and communication station of the Eastern Theater Command.
