Teneligliptin,the third generation dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)inhibitor,is one of the effective drugs for treatment of type 2 diabetes.It can inhibit the activity of DPP-4 enzyme,reduce the degradation of GLP-1 and GIP,improve hyperglycemia,and repairβ-cell function.Teneligliptin has unique chemical structure and pharmacokinetic characteristics.This article summarized the application of teneligliptin in specific population with 2 diabetes,such as patients with renal insufficiency,liver insufficiency,and patients of different ages,genders,and races,hoping to provide a new choice of effective,safe,and long-term hypoglycemic drugs for special population with type 2 diabetes.
