The omics techniques has played a significant role in the development of the integration of Chinese and Western medicine.Physiological or pathological states are formed by the aggregation of the behavior of the most basic unit of life:the cell.Molecular information that generated by the various omics and integrated at the cellular level must extend to the whole human body. Therefore,it can embody the true spirit of Chinese medicine(CM)theory.Cellular behavior is the aggregate performance of all proteins in the intracellular protein network at the cellular level after external regulation.Detailed quantification of cellular behavior can explain the proportion of different protein pathways, and link various molecular omics information closely to cellular behavior. This paper firstly advocates the strategy of studying the biological basis of CM based on cellular behavioral omics,in order to find research methods suitable for TCM theory, fully embodies the connotation of CM theory and the significance of practice in modern science.
