摘要
Radar has found a wide range of applications in the past,such as target detection and tracking,surveillance,and remote sensing,and more recently in the rapidly developing area of robotics and autonomous systems.With advances in signal processing and hardware design,more flexible and higher performance radar working modes have been proposed,together with new theories and methods for advanced radar imaging and processing.In addition,with the deployment of various radar systems,radar image processing in the remote sensing area has entered the era of big data.Given its great success with traditional optical images,intelligent processing technology has attracted more and more attention and has been developing very quickly in radar image interpretation,especially for target detection and classification.However,there is still a vast space for further improvement in radar signal processing.Many fundamental issues and challenges concerning target detection and intelligent processing,such as low efficiency of maneuvering target detection,insufficient accuracy of weak target detection,and low confidence of meteorology target detection,have not yet been resolved.Solutions to these issues are intensively pursued by the community and this special section provides a representative body of work in this direction of efforts.
