广东省立惠潮梅师范学校教育教学述略

A Brief Introduction to Education and Teaching at Guangdong Provincial Huichaomei Normal School

民国初期,惠潮嘉师范学堂改为“广东省立惠潮梅师范学校”,为地方培养师范人才。在这个过程中,广东省政府、地方政府、军阀等都深刻地影响着学校的发展。当时办学经费主要仰赖旧书院遗留下来的产业,各级政府所能提供的帮助有限。学校经费时常紧张,加之战祸频仍,学校的发展举步维艰。不过,学校并未就此放弃,各职员仍努力维持,为地方培养教育英才,为地方教育发展奠定基础。从广东省立惠潮梅师范学校办学历史可知,民国初期广东的师范教育主要依赖校方努力维持,省政府虽有扶持之意,却未能付诸实施。

In the early days of the Republic of China,Huichaojia Normal School was renamed as“Guangdong Provincial Huichaomei Normal School”to cultivate teacher training talents for the local community.In this process,the Guangdong Provincial Government,local governments and warlords all had a profound influence on the development of the school.At that time,funding for the school de⁃pended mainly on the properties left behind by the old academies,and the assistance provided by the various levels of governments was limited.School funds were often tight,coupled with the fre⁃quent wars,which made it difficult for the school to develop.However,the school did not give up,and the staff worked hard to maintain the school,while cultivating educational talents for the local community and laying the foundation for the development of local education.From the history of Guangdong Provincial Huichaomei Normal School,it can be seen that in the early days of the Repub⁃lic of China,normal education in Guangdong mainly depended on the efforts of the school to main⁃tain itself,and although the provincial government had the intention of supporting the school,the sup⁃port was not implemented.
