近代西方学界对于中国经济问题的关注(1912—1949)——以《美国经济评论》为中心的考察

The Attention of Modern Western A cademic Circles to China's Economic Issues(1912-1949)-Focused on The American Economic Review

中国经济是世界经济的一部分,是西方学界对于经济问题进行研究的重要样本。本研究试图以《美国经济评论》为中心进行考察,从他者和中外学术交往两个视角来审视,管窥1912年至1949年西方学界对于中国经济问题的关注,以此反观中国经济发展,为自我定位寻找适当的参照系。通过细致分析《美国经济评论》中与中国经济问题相关的书评和专题论文,进一步探讨中西学界的群体构成与学术交往、主要涉及的研究领域、国际研究机构的支持等相关问题。研究表明,中西学术交往有利于学术研究的深入,但是由于所处立场不同,对于相同经济问题,中西学界研究的视角不同、方法不同,最终结论也有所差异。在本文研究时间范围内,相比中国学界,西方学界的相关研究更具有国际化视野,但是对于中国政治与经济的分裂、中国经济的历史与现实等问题均存在认识上的不足。

China's economy is a part of the world economy and it is an important sample of western academic research on economic issues.This study focuses on The American Economic Review,one of the most important journals recognized by the economic circles,examining it from two perspectives,one is from the eyes of the others and one is from the academic exchanges between China and other countries.The study gets a glimpse of the attention of modern western academic circles to China's economic issues from 1912 to 1949,so as to reflect on China's economic development itself and find an appropriate reference frame for self-positioning.Through a detailed analysis of the relevant book reviews and monographs in The American Economic Review,this study further discusses the scholar group composition and academic exchanges between Chinese and western academic circles,the main research fields involved,the support of international research institutions and other relevant issues.The research shows that academic exchanges between China and the West are conducive to the deepening of academic research,but due to different positions,for the same economic issues,the research perspectives and methods of Chinese and western academic circles appear different,and the final conclusions are also different.In the research time range of this study,compared with Chinese scholars,the western scholars'relevant research has a more international perspective,but there is a lack of understanding not only on the division of Chinese politics and economy but also on the history and reality of China's economy.
