With the popularity of mobile internet technology,smartphone have become the most enthusiastic and widely used medium among college students.The phenomenon of“phone addicts,”“thumb generation,”and“mobile gaming enthusiasts”can be seen everywhere on campuses.College students have gradually developed a dependence on media for learning,consumption,socializing,entertainment,and even their psychological well-being.The increasingly serious issue of media dependency among college students profoundly affects their cognition,emotions,and mental health.It can provide new ideas for promoting the development of colleges with enriched content and enhancing the effectiveness of college education by clarifying the relationship between college students'media dependency and the effectiveness of campus culture and ideological education,and exploring its negative impact on the elements,processes,and outcomes of college education.
