During the process of rural sewage treatment,the mechanism of greenhouse gas generation,main carbon emission activities and boundaries,methods of carbon emission accounting,and approaches to carbon reduction are summarized.The particular attention was paid to the carbon emission accounting and emission reduction in the process of rural sewage treatment.The indirect carbon emissions generated by the energy and chemicals account for the major proportion.The carbon emission accounting methods mainly include measurement method,emission factor method,model method,etc.The carbon reduction pathways include energy-saving and consumption reduction optimization control,adoption of low-carbon process technology,resource and energy recovery,etc.The synergistic effect of reducing pollution and carbon emissions is the development direction in the field of rural sewage treatment in future.
