使命感召,其效何如:一项职业使命感效能的元分析检验 被引量:4

How is the Effectiveness of Calling?A Meta-Analytic Review of the Literature

摘要 针对当前学界关于职业使命感效能研究的诸多争议,为全面可靠地评估职业使命感的真实效能,本研究对116篇实证文献、165个效应值、82785个独立样本进行了元分析,结果发现:职业使命感对个体工作和生活效能具有双重促进作用。在工作效能中,职业使命感对个体工作态度的促进作用最强,而后依次是工作绩效、创新和职场行为。在生活效能中,职业使命感对个体人生意义感的促进作用强于生活满意度。在各具体效能指标中,职业使命感对工作投入、关系绩效和创新的促进作用尤为突出。在调节效应中,宏观层面的地区文化、中观层面的组织类型和微观层面的测量方式均能显著调节职业使命感与其效能之间的关系,且方向一致,即集体主义、低权力距离、公益组织情境下以及采用多维量表测量职业使命感时,职业使命感都更为有效。研究结论为组织管理实践扬长避短地发挥职业使命感的效能提供了“简练”规律。 In view of the academic controversies on the effectiveness of calling,this study aims to clarify the true effectiveness of calling by conducting a meta-analytic review consisting of 116 independent empirical studies,165 effect sizes and 82785 independent samples.The results indicate that calling has dual promoting effect on individuals'work and life.In terms of its work effectiveness,the effect of calling on individuals'work attitudes is strongest,then followed by work performance,innovation and work behaviors.In terms of its life effectiveness,the effect of calling on individuals'life meaning is stronger than that on individuals'life satisfaction.The promoting effect of calling on work engagement,context performance and innovation is particularly prominent among its specific effective indicators.What's more,regional culture,organization type and measurement mode of calling can significantly moderate the relationships between calling and its effective indicators.That is,the relationships between calling and its effective indicators are stronger in the context of collectivism,low power distance,non-profit organizations,and when the multidimensional scale is used to measure calling.These findings provide important practical implications for managers regarding how to develop strengths and circumvent weaknesses of calling.
