“连接”与“重构”:反思媒介社会学的议题、理论与方法

“Articulation”and“Reconstruction”:Reflection on Issues,Theories,and Methods of Media Sociology

不同于从传播学本位和社会学本位对媒介社会学学术脉络的梳理,文章主张从Web3.0以降媒介全面切入社会生活微观、中观和宏观全领域的语境背景出发,从研究议题、理论和方法三个角度,综合梳理媒介研究学术史中的各类关联理论和方法实践,并指出芝加哥学派的“媒介与社会”学术传统为当下媒介社会学研究开展提供了历史基础,而社会学三大宏观理论家和布洛维等学者的中观理论可成为社会理论“媒介化”实践基础,进而从方法层面指出“界面”研究正在实现对传统研究方式的统合,最终在梳理学术史中“连接”资源基础上,从“重构”角度提出“行动-媒介-结构”媒介社会学进路的可行性,并对其局限性进行了思考。

In contrast to the academic lineage of media sociology from the communication and sociological perspectives,this paper presents a comprehensive history of media research from three perspectives:research issues,theories,and methods,starting from the context of the comprehensive entry of post-Web 3.0 media into the micro,meso,and macro spheres of social life.It is pointed out that the academic tradition of“media and society”of Chicago School provides the historical foundation for the development of media sociology research nowadays,while the three major macro theorists in sociology and the meso theories of scholars such as Michael Burawoy can serve as the practical foundation for the“mediation”of social theory.Moreover,it is pointed out that“interface”research is realizing the unification of traditional research approaches from a methodological perspective.Based on a review of the“articulation”resources in academic history,this paper proposes the feasibility of the“agent-media-structure”approach to media sociology and considers its limitations from a“reconstruction”perspective.
