The topic of“autonomy”in modern architecture in the west is now less and less mentioned,and the“autonomy”of architecture provides a unique perspective for us to better understand John Hejduk’s life trajectory as an architect and his architectural works.This paper first briefly introduces the thinking process of Hejduk’s turning to the“autonomy”of architecture,then attempts to explore and explain the expression of“autonomy”in Hejduk’s architectural works,and analyzes the changes in the“autonomy”of Hejduk’s architecture,so as to be as close as possible to the“truth”of Hejduk’s works.
