摘要
“培养和加强儿童从出生到成年的阅读习惯”是公共图书馆的重要使命,婴幼儿服务是其中的重要议题。认MGOL项目为例,探讨美国公共图书馆开展0~3岁婴幼儿服务的模式及经验发现,MGOL项目以早期读写、入学准备等理论为基础,为婴幼儿提供有趣的、互动的、参与式的活动,配合易于理解的家长指导及拓展边界的应用程序,培育婴幼儿的早期读写能力,促进婴幼儿全面健康发展。MGOL项目的特点包括:以研究为基础,尊重婴幼儿的发展规律;具有标准化的活动结构和灵活的可拓展空间;赋能家长和家庭,积极构建社区支持体系。
Creating and strengthening reading habits in children from birth to adulthood is a significant mission of public libraries.This article discusses the model and practice of services for babies and toddlers in public libraries,through analyzing the development,content,underlying theories and features of“Mother Goose on the Loose”(MGOL)Program.Based on theories of early literacy and school readiness,the MGOL program offers engaging,interactive,participatory activities for babies and toddlers,along with easy-to-understand parental guidance and boundary-expanding applications,to nurture babies and toddlers early literacy skills and promote them to become“Whole”children.MGOL program is research-based and respects babies and toddlers development,has a standardized structure but can be adapted flexibly,empowers parents and families and actively build communities.
