摘要
举办大型体育赛事一直是卡塔尔的国家发展战略的一部分,也是其外交政策的关键组成部分。卡塔尔于2010年12月获得了2022年第22届世界杯足球赛的举办权,这是足球世界杯第一次在中东地区举办,卡塔尔成为世界杯足球赛有史以来国土面积最小和国家人口最少的举办国,并且开创了小国体育外交的新模式。2022年卡塔尔世界杯足球赛的成功举办不仅助力实现了国际足联的战略愿景和目标,还通过使卡塔尔与阿拉伯国家(地区)建立友好关系、扩大卡塔尔的国际影响力、为中东地区增添人类团结与合作的力量塑造了卡塔尔的外交新形象。
Hosting large-scale sports events has always been a part of Qatar’s national development strategy and a key component of its independent foreign policy.Qatar obtained the right to host the 22nd FIFA World Cup 2022 in December 2010,marking the first time the World Cup has been held in the Middle East.Qatar has become the smallest country in the history of the World Cup with the smallest land area and the smallest population,and has pioneered a new model of small country sports diplomacy.The successful hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 not only helped achieve FIFA’s strategic vision and goals,but also shaped Qatar’s new diplomatic image by enhancing friendly relations between Qatar and Arab countries(regions),expanding Qatar’s international influence,and adding human solidarity and cooperation to the Middle East.
