“To retain my fascination with chemistry,I have had to change my research fields about every 10 years.”—Donald J.Cram(1919-2001),1987 Nobel Laureate There have been few times,if any,in human history where we’ve experienced so many changes in our lives and society on such a short timescale.Our transition from the Industrial Age into the Information Age has been at a blazingly fast pace—one that has been difficult for us humans to process.From the new challenges presented by AI technology to catastrophic climate events to societal transformations,we live in a world of non-stop,seemingly relentless change.September seems like the perfect time of year to talk about change,as we observe the annual transition from summer to fall.
