How does Scientific and Technological Innovation Promote Farmers’ Affluence——Theoretical Mechanism and Empirical Evidence

在对农民生活富裕的现代化内涵进行深入探讨的基础上,分析农业科技创新对农民生活富裕的内部与外部影响机制,并基于我国省级数据在考虑内生性后实证检验该机制及其异质性。结果表明:通过内部诱导机制,农业科技创新可促进农民增收,改变农民消费结构;通过外部支撑机制,农业科技创新可促进农村生产、生活与生态环境改善;内、外部机制的促进作用受地区发展程度和财政涉农投入的影响而具有区域异质性。

Based on the in-depth discussion on the modernization connotation of farmers’affluence,the paper analyzed both the internal and external impact mechanisms of the innovation in agricultural science and technology on farmers’affluence.Meanwhile,we empirically tested the mechanism and heterogeneity by considering the endogeny after introducing China’s provincial-level data.The results showed that,internal induction mechanism could help agricultural innovation increase farmers’income and change farmers’consumption structures.And external support mechanism was conductive to the improvement of rural production,life and ecological environment.Besides,the internal and external promoting mechanisms both had regional heterogeneity due to different development levels and the fiscal investment on agriculture-related issues.
