竭心典守——徐悲鸿、“马丁夫人”与《八十七神仙卷》

Striving to Protect Masterpieces:Xu Beihong,“Mrs.Marty”and the Scroll of Eighty-seven Immortals

1909年,传世精品《八十七神仙卷》作为中国香港最著名的法国航运公司负责人兼广州与中国香港领事皮埃尔·马蒂的遗产,留给了家人。1937年5月,为更好地保护文物,皮埃尔·马蒂的大女儿,时任中国香港大学法语教师的米歇尔·马蒂以相对低廉的价格将它转让给徐悲鸿。喜获至宝的徐悲鸿回到住处,特意为马蒂夫人创作了《雄鸡高唱图》以示感谢,同时向国际友人发出了世界反法西斯的战斗宣言。尔后,徐悲鸿为避免国宝再遭不测,与朋友许地山及夫人一道,修改、隐匿藏家信息,终致赎回的古画不再流落他手,体现出画家对中国文化遗产的典守精神。

In 1909,the handed-down masterpiece the Scroll of Eighty-Seven Immortals was inherited by the family of Pierre Marty the head of the most famous French shipping company in Hong Kong region and the consul of Guangzhou and Hong Kong region.In May 1937,to better protect the painting,his eldest daughter Michelle Marty,a French teacher at the University of Hong Kong ,China back then,sold it to Xu Beihong at a relatively low price.Xu Beihong was so happy that he created the painting Singing Rooster for Mrs.Marty after returning to his residence to express his gratitude.At the same time,he issued a declaration of fighting against fascism to international friends.Later,Xu Beihong,together with his friend Xu Dishan and his wife,modified and concealed the collector's information to prevent the redeemed ancient painting from falling into wrong hands,which reflected the artist's efforts to protect the ancient masterpiece.
