In currency reform of the Nanjing national government, the Japanese bourgeois liberal press took the lead in advocating the"re-understanding of China theory",criticizing the opinion of"China is not a unified country",proposing to help China's unification momentum, and advocating the adjustment of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations and policies towards China, including the issue of North China,by taking the Nanjing national government as the target. After the Xi'an Incident,the"re-understanding of China theory"was fur-ther developed, which led to the emergence of many views, such as the Liberalists thought the Nanjing na-tional government unified China, the Nationalist expressed the opinion that China will be recolonized, and the Marxist believed the Communist Party of China was driving China's development. These opinions influ-enced the government to launch"Sato diplomacy"to adjust the relations with China. On the eve of the July 7th Incident,Japan launched the revisiting of"re-understanding of China theory",arguing that the"re-un-derstanding of China theory"fueled China's"arrogant"attitude and anti-Japanese movement, questioning whether China could be reunified, and advocating the use of force at any cost to China, helping the Japanese War of Aggression Against China. Most of the"re-understanding of China theory"are aimed at safeguarding the interests of Japan's invasion of China and moderating anti-Japanese sentiments in China, and they can-not serve as an effective rethinking to stop Japan's invasion of China.
