The infiltration and depiction of medical ethics in Sylvia Plath’s autobiographical novel The Bell Jar provides an important textual mirror for the reality of the American medical system in the 1950s,and scientifically foresees the medical ethics turn of American society in the 1960s.The bell Jar not only reflects the power strife and supervision of patients by the old medical ethics under the American medical system, but also artistically reproduces the humanistic care brought by the germination of new medical ethics and the return of patients’rights.
