This paper analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of methanol compared with traditional fuel gasoline and diesel,expounded the influence of relevant policies and standards on the development of methanol fuel and methanol vehicles in China,as well as the current status and difficulties of the development of methanol fuel and methanol vehicles in China.It also expounded the great potential of methanol as an alternative fuel for vehicles and its significance for energy conservation,emission reduction and energy diversification in China.
