论福建协和大学的本土化自觉

Proactive localization of Fukien Christian University

20世纪初基督教教会大学在中国陆续开办,随着中国社会环境的变化及民族意识的觉醒,教会大学逐步向中国本土化转向。福建协和大学的本土化转向突出表现在培养目标及培养模式紧扣并融入福建地域性需求、重视学生人格精神的培养,并以此为中心塑造协和大学精神,更因其办学过程中中国文化、福建文化的渗透,使之成为福建省的一所重要大学。协大本土化过程中的实践和经验,对中国大学的现代化发展具有一定的借鉴和启示。

At the beginning of the 20th century,Christian church universities were established in China one after another.With the change of Chinese social landscape and the awakening of national consciousness,church universities began to localize themselves.The localization of Fukien Christian University was highlighted in its training objectives and training modes,which were tailored to meet the regional needs of Fujian and attached importance to nurturing the personality and spirit of its students,and this was taken as the center to shape the spirit of the university.In addition,the incorporation of Chinese and Fujian cultures into its educational approach established itself as a notable university in Fujian.The practice and experience in the localization of the university therefore have certain reference and enlightenment for the modernization of present Chinese universities.
