Cherry tomato is a fruit-based vegetable with high economic value,and is one of the"Four Fruits and Vegetables"promoted preferentially by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations(FAO).The initial industrial development of cherry tomato started from the imported foreign agriculture products and related technologies,and the cherry tomato industry is the most dynamic and high-quality component of modern characteristic agriculture in Guangdong.Meanwhile,the cherry tomato industry is a new modern agricultural industry with distinctive regional and industrial characteristics,which leads to the development of modern agriculture and high-quality high-efficiency agriculture.Based on the geographical environment of Guangdong and the current situation of cherry tomato industry,the significant features of Guangdong cherry tomato industry development were systematically summarized,that the industry emphasizes science and technology to strongly support the innovation and utilization of cherry tomato germplasm resources,builds multiple platforms to promote the integration of cherry tomato seed industry development of Industry-University-Research-Convergence,expands the functions of the whole industrial chain,and develops emerging industries and three industry convergence to promote the high-quality industry upgrading of cherry tomato industry.Furthermore,the existing problems were analyzed such as the missing high-quality industrial development planning for Guangdong cherry tomato industry,the uncracked bottlenecks that restrict the development of seed industry,the unimplemented high-level modernization and intelligence of facilities,the lagging development of industrial integration,and the unperfected full-chain industrial services system.Moreover,the authors probed the necessary of high-requirement development planning of cherry tomato industry to guarantee future high-quality development,the necessary of seed industry innovation to support stable development of cherry tomato industry,the necessary of facility agriculture to achieve high-quality development,the necessary of new technologies to drive three industry convergence and evolutional upgrades for cherry tomato industry,and the necessary of cultural consumption that the culture consumption tends to be an evolutionary trend as a new industrial carrier,to provide important decision-making reference for benign high-quality development of Guangdong cherry tomato industry.
