With the acceleration of globalization,cultural exchanges are getting ever more frequent,and multiple cultures have collided and fused with each other,forming the multi-cultural blending.Language,as the carrier of a culture,plays a critical role in this process,especially English,which is the most-widely used language in the world.In this context,English education in China’s colleges and universities is facing huge challenges.Innovation and reform are urgently needed to cope with the development of the times.This paper puts forward innovative strategies for English teaching by analyzing the problems existing in English education in Chinese universities and colleges.The integration and emphasis of multi-culture content in college English teaching conforms to the development of the times.Through various ways and efforts,the innovative measures of college English teaching will genuinely improve the comprehensive quality of Chinese students,thus promoting the comprehensive strength of the country riding the tide of globalization.
