间距与中国文学外译中的有效对话--以莫言小说在法国的译介为例

Spacing and Effective Dialogue in the Foreign Translation of Chinese Literature:A Case Study of Mo Yan's Novels in France

文学译介必然涉及自我与他者之间的对话,但在“异”的考验下,只有有效的对话才能真正对交流互鉴起到积极的推进作用。本文认为,“异”所具有的间距性蕴含着巨大的能动空间,对间距性的合理认识与维护可为提升跨文化交流中对话的有效性提供必要的保障。基于法国当代哲学家列维纳斯和于连对“间距”这一概念的思考,本文结合莫言小说在法国的译介这一案例,探讨“间距”为实现有效对话所创造的条件与路径,以期为中国文学外译研究提供有益的参照。

Literary translation necessarily involves dialogue between the Self and the Other,but under the test of“foreign”,only an effective dialogue can promote exchange and mutual learning.In this paper,it is argued that the spatiality of“foreign”contains a huge dynamic space and that a reasonable understanding and maintenance of spatiality can provide the necessary guarantee for enhancing the effectiveness of dialogue in intercultural communication.Based on the reflections of contemporary French philosophers Lévinas and Jullien on the concept of“spacing”,this paper explores the conditions and paths created by“spacing”for effective dialogue in the light of Mo Yan's translation in France,with a view to providing useful references for the study of Chinese literature in foreign translation.
