摘要
石黑一雄的《长日将尽》中主人公复杂的情感矛盾和心理斗争是备受关注的焦点,但学者们往往从文本内容层面解读,事实上人物的情感困境在很大程度上得益于小说的叙事结构对应着奏鸣曲式,并蕴含着辩证的哲学意蕴。本文认为,《长日将尽》借助音乐奏鸣曲式与人类情感形式的异质同构,进一步发掘文学与音乐之间、奏鸣曲式的结构形态及其与哲学辩证法之间的融合,展现了主部主题和副部主题之间的矛盾以及各主题内部的矛盾,在小说的呈示部、展开部和再现部进行对比性呈示、戏剧性发展、统一性再现的辩证发展过程,折射出主人公情感变化发展的过程,也彰显出石黑一雄一直以来对人类共通的情感困境的哲学思考。文学、音乐和哲学这三门学科在《长日将尽》中,彼此异质同构、相得益彰。
The complex emotional contradictions and psychological struggles of the protagonist in Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day have attracted much attention,but scholars often interpret them from the level of text content.In fact,the emotional predicament of the protagonist is largely due to the sonata form corresponding to the narrative structure of the novel,and contains dialectical philosophical implications.This paper holds that The Remains of the Day further explores the relationship between literature and music,sonata form and its integration with philosophical dialectics by virtue of the heterogeneous isomorphism between music sonata form and human emotion form,therefore revealing the contradictions between the major theme and the minor theme as well as the contradictions within each theme.The dialectical development process of contrasting presentation,dramatic development and unity representation in the exposition,development and recapitulation of the novel also reflects the process of emotional change and development of the protagonist,which shows that Ishiguro has been thinking about the common emotional dilemma of mankind.To some extent,literature,music and philosophy add radiance and beauty to and bring out the best in one another.
