The theory of paratext expands the breadth and depth of translation studies and provides new perspectives and tools for translation criticism.The paratexts of La Bibliothèque Chinoise can be divided into three parts-introduction,note and appendix.The introduction is a key step in the interpretation of classics,reflecting new perspectives on the selection of texts,demonstrating the translator's view of translation,sorting out the research on the authenticity of editions,and highlighting the exploration of controversial issues in the academy;the note is an indispensable tool while the appendix is a supplementary means for the interpretation of the classics.The paratexts participate in constructing the connotative value of classics,and the rich and detailed paratexts elevate La Bibliothèque Chinoise to the height of a landmark achievement of contemporary French sinology,which is conducive to the dissemination and acceptance of Chinese classics outside the country.
