This paper discusses how to develop students’creative consciousness in teaching the basics of oil painting in adult colleges.Creative consciousness refers to students’understanding,cognition and thinking ability of art creation.It is of great significance to the improvement of students’artistic level.This paper proposes four ways of raising students’creative consciousness,including the explanation and learning of theoretical knowledge,the cultivation of observation and perceptual ability,the guidance of creative skills and the technique of expression,and the guidance and reflection of the creative process.These methods contribute greatly to students’artistic creativity.
