To cultivate students’core literacy in teaching high school English reading,teachers need to change traditional teaching methods.They should use texts as the basis,put students at the center of learning,and formulate reasonable and appro⁃priate teaching objectives to arrange the teaching content with clear priorities,to design rich and interesting learning activities,and to conduct diverse and objective teaching evaluations in teaching practice.In this way,the core literacy of English subject in⁃cluding learning ability,cultural awareness,and thinking qualities can be cultivated,and the value of discipline education can be realized.
