Revolution Loomed in the"Narrative":Close Reading of Mother as a Slave by Roushi

柔石在《为奴隶的母亲》中贴着小说女主人公的视点进行叙述,形成了小说的双重结构,即婚恋的显在结构和革命的潜在结构。柔石以平等的方式传达出的对于女主人公的同情态度,不是落脚在其感情问题上,而是落脚在其生存问题上。同情因此构成柔石理解女主人公生活世界与革命关系的通道,柔石通过《为奴隶的母亲》的写作,不仅试图克服自己过去的爱欲书写,而且暗示了一个自由、平等、无阶级的社会远景。

In Mother as a Slave,Roushi narrated from the perspective of the heroine of the novel,forming the dual structure of the novel,that is,the explicit structure of marriage and love together with the latent structure of revolution.The sympathy for the heroine conveyed by Roushi in an equal way was not based on her emotional problems,but on her survival.Sympathy thus constituted a channel for Roushi to understand the relationship between the heroine's world and the revolution.And through the writing of Mother as a Slave,Roushi not only tried to overcome his past erotic writing,but also hinted a vision of a free,egalitarian,classless society.
