16世纪《明心宝鉴》的西方译介——以高母羡译本与罗明坚译本为中心

The Western Translation of the Mingxin Baojian in the 16th Century:Focusing on the Translations by Juan Cobo and Michele Ruggieri

《明心宝鉴》作为明清时期最为流行的通俗读物之一,收录了700余条儒释道格言,其中夹以民间谚语,并在16世纪便西传欧洲。事实上,该书最早的西方译本不仅有高母羡(Juan Cobo)的《明心宝鉴》(Beng Sim Po Cam),还有近期发现的罗明坚(Michele Ruggieri)《诸家名言汇编》(Diversorum autorum sententiae ex diversis codicibus collectae)。该文将以16世纪的这2个译本为中心,梳理《明心宝鉴》西传的知识脉络背景,探析2位译者在翻译实践过程中的具体策略,归纳中国格言西传的路径特点,同时揭示译本中存在的对中国道德文化进行的基督教式“索隐”。

Mingxin Baojian,one of the most well-known books during Ming and Qing dynasties,contains more than 700 maxims concerning Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,as well as some proverbs,which was translated into Europe in the 16^(th)century.Actually,the early translation versions include not only Beng Sim Po Cam by Juan Cobo,but also Diversorum autorum sententiae ex diversis codicibus collectae translated by Michele Ruggieri,being discovered recently.Based on these two versions,the paper tries to make a study of the background of Mingxin Baojian's translation,and analyze how the maxims translated and what features shown in the process,meanwhile,reveal the Christian figurism found in Chinese culture and morals.
