多样化处理方式的有机融合:汉英外交口译话语标记语处理研究

Integration of Various Processing Strategies:Research on the C-E Diplomatic Interpretation of Discourse Markers

从关联理论和关联翻译观出发,以近年两会期间外长记者会实况视频转写材料为语料,通过质性分析提炼汉英外交口译过程中译员对话语标记语采用的处理方式,并量化统计分析不同处理方式的应用频率,进而剖析译员灵活采用多样化处理方式的理据。研究发现:译员在外交口译过程中灵活采用明译法、减译法、增译法及推译法四种处理方式,其中减译法的应用频率最高,其次为明译法和增译法,而推译法的应用频率最低。为了有效明示发话人的交际意图、建构前后话语间的语义关联、引导并制约听话人对话语的理解,译员充分发挥其主体性,根据具体语境,将多样化处理方式有机融合。

Based on Sperber&Wilson's Relevance Theory and Gutt's Relevance Translation Theory,the study analyzed data from the interpreting transcripts of Foreign Minister Press Conferences,classified the strategies of processing discourse markers in the C-E interpretation and analyzed the frequency of applying those strategies through qualitative and quantitative research.The paper then focused on the interpreters'motivation of applying those flexible strategies.It is found that interpreters mainly used the following four strategies—ostensive translation,omission,amplification and inferential translation.The frequency of applying omittion ranked highest,followed by the ostensive translation and amplification,while the frequency of applying inferential translation was the lowest.In order to show the speakers'communication intention,establish the semantic correlation between discourses and guide listeners'understanding,interpreters exercise their subjecivity fully and integrate those different processing strategies flexibly according to specific contexts.
