大学英语课程词汇在二语真实文本阅读中的效用研究

A Study on the Effectiveness of College English Curriculum Vocabulary in L2 Authentic Text Reading

摘要 词汇知识和阅读理解二者相辅相成、动态关联,一方面词汇知识会对阅读理解产生影响,另一方面阅读理解也会对词汇知识或词汇增长产生影响。本研究首次将语篇覆盖率这一概念引入到大学英语学习者真实文本阅读的研究,进而探索大学英语课程词汇对英语真实文本理解的效用。研究通过比较《全新版大学进阶英语综合教程》词汇表和真实目标语料的词汇来获得预期语篇覆盖率,然后针对这些文本对受试者进行阅读水平测试,从而获取学习者的实际语篇覆盖率。结果表明,学习者的预期语篇覆盖率和实际语篇覆盖率均低于英语真实文本阅读达到充分理解的基本标准。继而对影响真实文本阅读的因素进行分析,并提出针对性的优化方案,以期促进大学英语词汇和阅读教学的效用提升,为如何看待课程词汇在学习者真实文本阅读中的作用提供了新的视角。 Vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension are complementary and dynamically related.On the one hand,vocabulary knowledge can have an impact on reading comprehension,and on the other hand,reading comprehension can also have an impact on vocabulary knowledge or vocabulary growth.For the first time,this research introduces the concept of discourse coverage into the study of college English learners'authentic text reading,and then gives light to the effectiveness of curriculum vocabulary on authentic English comprehension.The study first obtained the expected discourse coverage by comparing the curriculum vocabulary of the New Progressive College English Integrated Course with the vocabulary of the authentic target corpus.And then it obtained the actual discourse coverage by administering a reading level test to the subjects on these authentic texts.The results show that the expected discourse coverage rate and actual text coverage rate are both lower than the standard for full comprehension in English authentic text reading.The study then analyzes the factors that affect authentic text reading and puts forward some enlightments to optimize these factors,with a light to promote the effectiveness of college English vocabulary and reading teaching.It also provides a new perspective on how to view the role of curriculum vocabulary in learners’authentic text reading.
