评价理论态度系统下纳兰词英译风格研究——以舒威霖英译纳兰词为例

A Study on the English Translation Style of Nalan Ci under the Evaluative Theoretical Attitude System:Taking William Schultz's English Translation of Nalan as an Example

从评价理论态度系统出发,通过定性与定量相结合的研究方法,对纳兰性德13首词及William Schultz(舒威霖)英译本情感资源、判断资源和鉴赏资源的分布和使用频率进行了研究。研究发现,舒威霖在英译纳兰词时,增加态度资源的同时,基本保持情感资源、判断资源与鉴赏资源原有比例,保留了原作含蓄婉约的词风以及真切自然的情感。舒威霖采取保留鉴赏资源、灵活转换情感资源与级差资源的翻译策略,将意象美学与情感传真深切融合,再现中国传统诗词中寓情于景的表现手法,为民族典籍外译翻译策略选取提供了可借鉴的经验。

Based on the attitude system of evaluation theory,this paper studies the distribution and frequency of emotional resources,judgment resources and appreciation resources of 13 Nalan Xingde poems and William Schultz's English translation by combining qualitative and quantitative methods.It is found that when Shu Weilin translated Nalan,while increasing the attitude resources,he basically maintained the original proportion of emotional resources,judgment resources and appreciation resources,and retained the subtle and graceful style of the original words and true and natural emotions.Shu Weilin adopts the translation strategy of retaining appreciation resources and flexibly converting emotion resources and difference resources,deeply integrating image aesthetics and emotional fax,and reproducing the expression technique of combining emotion with scenery in traditional Chinese poetry,which provides referential experience for the selection of foreign translation strategies of national classics.
