Finding a Way Out in the Dilemma of Life-An Analysis of Guo Moruo's Ideological Transformation During His Stay in Japan

郭沫若早年留学日本的生活经历与他思想上的转向有重大关系。留日时期,他虽饱尝歧视却始终是一个在寻找意义的“他者”,在压抑、矛盾状态之下其爱国之情的喷涌勃发也同样剧烈。如何看待爱国与异族的爱妻、如何在复杂而矛盾的生活中平衡民族主义与超越民族主义的碰撞,既是他思想的困境、也是他借以寻求思想出路的契机。另一方面,郭沫若的爱国之情和一腔抱负伴随着几次归国又几次被迫离开的现实而无所附丽。在体验到上海的殖民化、无以报国的时代迷惘、苦闷的生活煎熬之后,他回到日本安心学医,但在翻译《社会组织与社会革命》时实现了思想上的“再生”,下定放弃研究医学的决心,这个决心使郭沫若放下所有的迷茫、烦闷,得到了“觉醒”“醒定”。

Guo Moruo's early experience of studying in Japan has a significant influence on his ideological transformation.During his study there,he was constantly seeking meaning as an"other"despite discrimination and his patriotism also surged strongly in the face of oppression and contradiction.The balance between his patriotism and his love for his Japanese wife and the collision between his nationalism and transcendental nationalism in complex and contradictory life experiences were both a predicament for his thoughts and an opportunity to seek a way out.On the other hand,he found his patriotism and aspirations could not be materialized after he returned to China and was forced to leave several times.After witnessing and experiencing the colonization,exploitation,and numbness in Shanghai,Guo Moruo decided to give up his study of medicine while translating Social Organization and Social Revolution in Japan.This decision resolved all his confusion and aggravation,and led to his"awakening"and"resolution."
