魏晉南北朝碑刻文獻數量豐富,文獻真實性好,故基於此類文獻的詞彙研究對中古漢語詞彙史有重要支撐作用,對辭書詞條的編纂有很好的補苴作用。該時期的碑刻文獻詞語總體上呈現出委婉典雅,具有伴生性、能産性、多途探索性,及出現新詞新義等特點。基於上述特點,在文獻詞語考釋中可采用辭書輔助、比勘語境、細審對文、追本溯源、擴展詞素等具體方法。
