Building a dream, from fishing village to cradle of entrepreneurs Back in time,in the late 1970s,Humen was a small fishing village situated on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary. The fishing men had convenient access to Hong Kong by sea.Local fishermen tended to purchase fabrics, clothes, shoes and socks from Hong Kong, and Sha Tou Kok of Shenzhen by taking advantage of piscatory trips, and sell them back in local stalls, which allowed Humen folks to supplement their income and support their families.
