南通近代“祈通中西”建筑是中国少有的根植于中国本土、吸纳先进文化发展的近代城市建筑文化遗产的突出代表。文章基于实地调研和考证资料,分析了南通近代“祈通中西”建筑遗产形成原因、发展演变的特点。通过对典型个案的住宅别墅和公共建筑进行分析,探讨了其建筑的历史背景、样式类型、“祈通中西”的特征等,对中国城市文旅发展与近代建筑遗产的保护传承提供了一些实践性的借鉴与思考。
