High-resolution mass spectrometry is a qualitative and quantitative analysis technology for known or unknown substances, which separated and ionized samples by chromatography and partial mass spectrometry, and then obtained chromatogram by a mass spectrometry detector.Because of the characteristics of high-throughput,fast analysis speed, high sensitivity and high-resolution,it has been widely used in pesticide residue detection in recent years. This paper reviewed the research progress on high-resolution mass spectrometry in the field of pesticide residues detection in recent years, analyzed the relevant literature on the application of high-resolution mass spectrometry in pesticide residue detection, and summarized the applications of time-of-flight mass spectrometry(TOF),electrostatic field orbital trap mass spectrometry(Orbitrap),and their combination with other detection methods(such as gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, etc.)in pesticide residue detection in various types of food. The prospect of future development direc-tion of high-resolution mass spectrometry was discussed to provide references for relevant personnel to detect pesticide residues in the future.
