The technology change of the digital and intelligent era and the strategic requirement of sustainable development are the powerful factors to promote the sustainable development of modern timber structure.The skin system composed of wood as the main material has a new connotation and expression in contemporary times.This paper summarizes the evolution process and trend of timber building skin under the main line of the development of timber building.In the field of digital construction,the role of digital technology in the construction of timber skin is summarized.And through the concrete cases,it explains the application value of timber skin architecture and its contemporary application trend.
