直面批评而矢志坚守:侯外庐史学的朴学传统

The Tradition of Philolgy in Hou Wailu's Historiography

侯外庐理论上推崇史学的朴学传统,实践中也是这样做的。其史著中的朴学体现为:引证多,说明简,阐微决疑;使用一手资料,拒用伪史料;研究思想史之前,做好文献整理工作;不厌其烦,究明指导理论中的概念。他遭受“引文多说明简”“错误百出”之讥,是其对以往学界矫枉过正,人们以通俗眼光看待其著作,以及其他各种原因共同作用的结果。他心胸宽广,虚心听取批评意见,纠正其思想史著作尤其是《中国近世思想学说史》的引文错误,改变不当提法,遵守凡例,保持体裁不变,体现了对于朴学精神的坚守。侯外庐史著的朴学传统表明了笼统地说马克思主义史学家系史观派是不恰当的。

Most scholars agree that Hou Wailu's historiography consists of two parts.One is that he sticks to the tradition of philology.Second is that he interprets history by Marxist classics as Capital.Scholars have sparsely mentioned that Hou Wailu prudently abided by philology,followed and developed epigraphers'writings.However,no such studies have touched on his various assertions and practices in different life phases.No rational reflections have been made on criticisms against his philology,either.Beyond that,philological analysis needs to be conducted on his Modern Chinese Intellectual and Academic History.This paper will explore the above questions and talk to all specialists.
