Frontier Archaeology Pooling Strength for Building a Modern Chinese Civilization

习近平总书记在文化传承发展座谈会上发表重要讲话,阐明了中华文明的五个突出特性,揭示了“两个结合”的深刻内涵,继续推动建设中华民族现代文明。边疆考古作为中国考古学的重要组成部分,在阐释中华文明的突出特性时具有不可替代的作用。本文从边疆考古的视角切入,通过边疆地区的实物资料丰富和充实中华传统文化内涵,实证中华民族共同体意识;通过构建中国边疆考古研究学术体系,探索边疆地区历史文化的发展脉络,丰富中华文明的发展规律。边疆地区民族文化在融入中华文明的过程中不断丰富着中华文明的精神标识,充实着中华文明的文化精髓。边疆考古作为发掘边疆地区民族历史文化最有效的手段,以实证的角度阐释边疆地区民族文化的文化特征,为建设中华民族现代文明凝心聚力。

In a recent meeting on cultural inheritance and development,General Secretary Xi Jinping made an important speech that elaborated on the five prominent features of Chinese civilization,revealed the profound contents of “Two Integrations(integrate the basic tenets of Marxism with China's specific realities and its fine traditional culture),”and called for continuing to push forward the building of modern Chinese civilization. Frontier archaeology is a critical part of Chinese archaeology and plays an irreplaceable role in interpreting the prominent features of Chinese civilization.This article expounds on some prominent features of Chinese civilization through the perspective of frontier archaeology. This article will:1)enrich the contents of traditional Chinese culture with physical materials from frontiers and provide solid evidence for the sense of community for the Chinese nation;2)enrich the development routes of Chinese civilization and facilitate “The Second Integration” by establishing an academic system for frontier archaeological research in China and exploring the evolution of history and culture in frontiers. Ethnic culture in the frontier regions enriches the cultural-ethical sign and the cultural essence of Chinese civilization as it integrates itself with Chinese civilization.Frontier archaeology,as the most effective approach to exploring ethnic history and culture in frontiers,empirically illustrates characteristics of ethnic culture in frontiers and pools strength for building a modern Chinese civilization.
