Objective To explore the correlation between blood pressure, uric acid, blood lipid, fatty liver and body mass index(BMI)among community residents, and to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of chronic non-infectious diseases. Methods Nine hundred and ninety-nine residents over 60 years old who came to our community center for physical examination from May 2019 to December 2019 were selected as the subjects of investigation and analysis, and the blood pressure, weight, height, biochemical tests and B-ultrasound results of the residents were counted. The correlation between BMI and blood pressure, blood uric acid, blood lipids and fatty liver was analyzed. Results The proportion of overweight and obese individuals accounted for 51.9%,exceeding half of the total examination population. The abnormal rates of systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),blood uric acid(SUA),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),High-density lipoprotein(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein(LDL-C)and fatty liver in overweight and obese people were 38.34%,16.96%,16.57%,10.21%,19.85%,10.79%,10.40%and 68.59%,respectively.Compared with normal and underweight individuals, the abnormal rates of SBP,DBP,SUA,TG,and fatty liver were significantly increased(P<0.01),the abnormal rate of HDL-C increased, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The abnormal rates of TC and LDL-C in overweight and obese individuals showed no statistically significant changes compared to normal and underweight individuals.Pearson correlation analysis suggested that SBP,DBP,SUA,TG,LDL-C were closely positively correlated with BMI(r=0.230,0.092,0.260,0.205,0.102,P<0.01).There was a significant negative correlation between HDL-C and BMI(r=-0.262,P<0.01).There was no correlation between TC and BMI(r=0.011,P<0.01).Conclusions More than half of the community residents are overweight and obese.Blood pressure, uric acid, blood lipids and fatty liver are closely related to BMI.The increase of BMI will increase the risk of hypertension, hyperuricemia and fatty liver. Therefore,we should pay attention to the impact of weight on health, properly reduce weight, prevent the occurrence of chronic non-infectious diseases, and improve the health level of community residents.
