How to improve the quality of editing and proofreading is an important issue in journal publishing.Due to their own characteristics,university journals has a certain particularity in editing quality control.The two main factors which affect the quality of editing and proofreading have been the working mode of editing and proofreading integration and the characteristics of comprehensive journals.In order to ensure the quality of edi-ting and proofreading,the editorial department can add a“collective proofreading”link.Collective proofread-ing can be implemented in offline and online forms.By this model,editors can find and solve critical problems,difficult problems and easily overlooked detail problems.The“collective proofreading”should be carried out in the later stage of the proofreading process.The practice results show that“collective proofreading”is a neces-sary,feasible and effective means to improve the quality of editing and proofreading of university journals.It is also beneficial to the promotion of editors’professional abilities.
