In omnimedia,main melody micro-documentaries are playing an increasingly important role in shaping a new pattern of the mainstream of public opinions and promoting the mainstream ideologies.They promote mainstream values with distinctive features of"micro"and"truth"that caters to the preferences of contemporary people for better disseminating and receiving information.They develop innovative contents,narratives and structures,and empower audience to have participation with effective use of omnimedia and narrative.The collective memory of the Chinese national construction and rejuvenation is thus well awakened,the public's sense of the national identity enhanced,and the mainstream values and ideologies promoted through the theme,content and dissemination of the narratives.On the other hand,the main melody documentaries need to break free from excessive reliance on technological aesthetics in terms of content,narrative and dissemination,and they need to strike a balance between political,artistic and profitable pursuits so as to achieve better effects of the main theme dissemination.
