翻译转换理论在侦探小说汉译中的应用——以爱伦·坡的《莫格街疑案》两汉译本为例

Application of Translation Shifts Theory in Translating Detective Novels——A Case Study of Two Chinese Versions of The Murders in the Rue Morgue Written by Edgar Allan Poe

《莫格街疑案》被认为是第一部真正意义上的侦探小说,对其研究主要集中在文学方面,对其译本的研究较少。文章以此侦探小说为研究对象,选取了焦菊隐译本和曹明伦译本,用实例说明翻译转换理论在侦探小说汉译中的实用性,以期丰富该小说的译本研究,提高对卡特福德翻译转换理论的重视,进而推动翻译研究的发展和中外文化的交流。

The Murders in the Rue Morgue is known as the first detective novel in the true sense.However,the research on it mainly focuses on literature,and there is litle research on their translations.This paper takes the detective novel as the object of study,selects Jiao Juyin's translation and Cao Minglun's translation,and uses examples to illustrate the application of translation shifts theory in Chinese translations of detective novels.The purpose is to enrich the translation study of The Murders in the Rue Morgue,to increase people's attention to Catford's Translation Shifts Theory,and to promote the development of translation studies and exchanges of sino-foreign cultures.
