基于语料库的明清陶瓷款识英译研究

A Corpus-Based Study on the Translation of Ceramic Marks in Ming and Qing Dynasties

“款识”是中国古陶瓷器物上极具文化特征的符号之一。作为陶瓷术语之一,款识的英译对于中国陶瓷文化的传播有着重要的意义。本文基于大量真实语料构建陶瓷汉英平行语料库,检索并提取其中的款识及译文,统计不同类型陶瓷款识的翻译方法,并结合历史背景、官窑制度、哲学思想等因素,探讨款识翻译的规律,以期能为陶瓷术语的英译提供参照。

Inscription is one of the most culturally distinctive symbols on ancient Chinese ceramic objects.As one of ceramic terminology,the translation of inscription is essential to disseminate Chinese ceramic culture.This paper will,firstly,construct a ceramic Chinese-English bilingual parallel corpus,and retrieve and extract the terms of inscription and their translations.Based on the corpus-based data analysis of the translation methods of different types of inscription,the rules of translating the inscription are discussed in the light of historical background,official kiln system,philosophical thought and other factors,hoping to provide reference for the translation of inscription.
