Breaking through the Cage of Gender——Analysis of the Adaptation Strategy of the Film“Women Talking”

加拿大青年女性导演萨拉·波莉的电影作品《女人们的谈话》改编自亚姆·托斯的同名小说,自2022年12月底在欧美上映后,荣获第95届奥斯卡金像奖最佳改编剧本奖。该片在忠于原著精神的基础上凭借纪实性谈话场、诗意镜头语言、碎片化意象空间、叙事视角的转变等改编策略,向观众塑造了长期被父权压制、遭遇性侵后的殖民地女性群像。传统电影荧屏中的女性是为了满足和强化以父权意识形态为主导地位的电影市场,因而其所呈现的皆为父权审美欲望驱使下脸谱化的典型女性形象,而该片打破了传统关于性别非此即彼二元对立的刻板思维,从存在主义的角度解读女性的身份地位,对摆脱激进极端女权的社会窘境现象具有积极指导意义。

Canadian young female director Sarah Polly's film"Women Talking"is adapted from the novel of the same name by Miriam Toews.After its release in Europe and America at the end of December 2022,it won the Award for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 95th Academy Awards.On the basis of loyalty to the spirit of the original work,this film,with its adaptation strategies such as documentary dialogue field,poetic camera lanG guage,fragmentation image space,and the change of narrative perspective,has shaped the colonial women's group image after longGterm patriarchal suppression and sexual aggression to the audience.The women in tradiG tional film screens are portrayed as typical female images driven by patriarchal aesthetic desires,in order to satG isfy and strengthen the film market dominated by patriarchal ideology.The film breaks the traditional stereotype of gender binary opposition,interpreting women's identity and status from an existentialist perspective,and has positive guiding significance for addressing the social dilemma of radical and extreme feminism.
