Practice and reflection on featured column construction in popular science journals

摘要 【目的】回顾《世界科学》“今日启明星”栏目的缘起和发展历程,归纳总结其创建的经验及意义,论证和丰富科普期刊特色栏目建设规律。【方法】采用案例分析方法,通过对“今日启明星”栏目近30年出版实践的研究,思考和探讨在中国式现代化建设这一特定历史条件下,以“科研项目科普化”为内容的科普栏目建设的理念与路径。【结果】“今日启明星”栏目坚持“传播科学,服务于中国式现代化建设”的宗旨,专注于国家科研计划项目科普化议题,长期发表对青年科学家的采访报道和由青年科学家创作的“元科普”作品,在中国创新发展“两翼论”的实践中服务于公众科学素养的提升。【结论】在科普期刊特色栏目建设中,把握科普要义、挖掘科普议题、整合科普力量以及长期坚守与创新,是彰显科普期刊个性和特色,满足新时代公众科普需求的一种选择。 [Purposes]This paper aims to review the origin and development of World Science′s featured column Careers,summarize the experiences and practical significance of its construction,and demonstrate and enrich the rules for the featured column construction in popular science journals.[Methods]Nearly 30 years of publication practices in the Careers column were studied by case analysis to investigate the ideas and pathways of constructing popular science columns centered around the"popularization of scientific research projects"in the specific historical context of China′s modernization.[Findings]Careers column adheres to the running purpose of"disseminating science and serving China′s modernization construction".Focusing on the topic about the popularization of China′s scientific research projects,the column consistently publishes interviews with young scientists and meta⁃science popularization works authored by them.In China′s"dual⁃wing theory"practice on innovative development,it contributes to enhancing public scientific literacy.[Conclusions]During featured column construction in popular science journals,the essence of popular science journals should be grasped,and popular science topics should be explored to integrate science popularization efforts,and maintain long⁃term dedication and innovation.This approach exemplifies the individuality and distinctiveness of popular science journals,providing a choice to meet the public science popularization needs in the new era.
